Position Overview – Procurement Category Manager of IT:
Our client is a global IT company developing its own product — a platform for digital marketers. This is a Procurement Category Manager of IT role for those who strive to implement functional processes and drive them to full completion.
Compensation: $120,000.00 – $130,000.00 + bonus
Location: Remote (office located in Boston, Massachusetts)
Responsibilities as the Procurement Category Manager of IT include:
- Develops and executes cost-saving initiatives through Strategic Sourcing, including negotiations, supplier consolidation, and demand management
- Partners with key stakeholders to optimize procurement power and working capital by identifying opportunities, aggregating goods and services, and standardizing processes
- Leads major projects as Project Lead, guiding sourcing strategy, supplier selection, cost evaluations, ROI analysis, pricing negotiations, and contract discussions
- Cultivates positive supplier and stakeholder relationships, communicates the Procurement Team's value proposition, and understands relevant functional organizations, their goals, and technology needs
- Conducts spend analysis, creates annual Category Management Plans, and implements changes to enhance cost efficiency, leveraging strong business relationships
- Leads contract negotiations with IT vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and SLAs, working with legal and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and risk management
- Selects IT vendors aligned with quality, cost, and technical requirements, maintains relationships through regular performance evaluations
- Manages the complete contract lifecycle, including administration, compliance, and renewals, in collaboration with Legal and other involved parties
- Ensures compliance with Procurement Ethics, Policies, SOx, Corporate Standards, Values, Internal Controls, and relevant laws
Qualifications for the Procurement Category Manager of IT include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in a Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement role
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and supply chain management
- In-depth knowledge of IT software, hardware, and SaaS solutions
- Ability to manage a diverse matrix of stakeholders across different business units and develop strong relationships
- Ability to motivate and engage team members. Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Personal willingness to be responsible for the outcome of your actions and the determination to ensure that results are achieved
- The desire and ability to provide high-quality service to all customers in a responsive and prompt manner
- The ability to manage multiple projects to deliver the desired outcome
