The Loan Closer and Support role will work as a member of the Middle Office team to support the Front Office in maintaining a portfolio of leveraged loan assets. The Loan Closer would be responsible for working with Operations Manager, Front Office, bank headquarters and external collateral administrators to book, confirm, and settle loan trades. This role is responsible for managing existing portfolio, generate reports on trade settlement, P&L, cash management and reconciliation. Additionally, the individual would support other functions such as   and internal covenant management. 

Highlights About the Company & Position:

  • Booking, confirming and settling par loan trades under LSTA and LMA documents, including coordinating with trade counterparties to ensure timely settlement of trades.
  • Reviewing and understanding LMA/LSTA Par standard documentation principally Trade Confirmations, Transfer Certificates and Funding Memo/Pricing Letters.
  • Ongoing management of loan portfolio and processing.
  • Perform cash management and asset balance reconciliation as well as update of internal database.
  • Preparation of internal documents/reports.
  • Collection and reviewing of loan/credit documentation.
  • Management of internal covenants and reporting due dates.
  • Conducting KYC on trade counterparties and responding to KYC inquiries.
  • Identifying and escalating issues to the Front Office and management when necessary.


  • 1-4 years’ experience of Loan Closing function, or similar, within a financial institution.
  • Good understanding of loan settlements process and LMA/LSTA Standard Terms and Conditions.
  • Experience with ClearPar, WSO and Intralinks / Syndtrak / Debtdomain (Agent site).
  • Ability to review and understand Credit Agreements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work to ensure transaction deadlines are achieved.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular Excel and Word; Excel VBA programming skills would be a plus but not essential.
  • Strong sense of accountability with a commitment to achieving individual and team goals.
  • Keen to question, challenge and improve, particularly around internal processes.
  • Strong communication skills to deal with both internal and external clients, including front office trading staff & agent counsel.
