Job Overview:
The Mental Health Social Worker provides services to students, families, and school staff. These services include individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, workshops, staff consultations, and trainings. The Social Worker works under general supervision and must be able to exercise independent judgment.
Responsibilities:
As a Mental Health Social Worker your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to —

Contributing to developing and implementing program policies and procedures, and crisis prevention

Assessing students' social and emotional needs.

Provideing counseling/social services to referred students from various sources.

Tracking and following up on all referrals both within and outside the school.

Establishing referral network/linkages with external agencies for students and parents.

Engaging with the entire school community, participating and presenting at meetings and assemblies.

Acting as an advocate for patients' rights and mediator between parents, child, and school.

Providing crisis intervention services or arranges emergency social services.

Recording professional assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes as per regulations.

Providing age-appropriate care for patients.

Ensuring personalized and respectful attention to all students, visitors, and co-workers.
Qualifications:

Master's Degree required in Social Work.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, professionals, and other personnel from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds
Remuneration:
$55,000-$58,000 (salary range is contingent upon individual levels of experience)
