Job Overview – Manager of Investment Accounting:
We are seeking a dedicated Manager of Investment Accounting to join our client’s growing team. This hybrid role involves overseeing all aspects of Investment Accounting and Compensation expense functions to ensure compliance and effective financial management.

Location: Boston, MA
Compensation: $110,000 – $145,000/year + bonus
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities of the Manager of Investment Accounting:

  • Operational Oversight: Manage benefits accounting and compensation expenses, including salaries, bonus plans, qualified and non-qualified plans, and Employee Benefit Plan audits.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for benefits and compensation accounting.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with HR, Legal, Tax, and other departments for accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop oversight models for tracking HR and Benefits expenses, including balance sheet reviews.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of professionals, including offshore support staff.
  • Process Improvement: Implement accounting improvements to enhance efficiency and business value.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures for accurate financial reporting.
  • Project Management: Lead projects and continuous improvement activities to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications for the Manager of Investment Accounting:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related work experience with increasing responsibility. Knowledge and experience of U.S. GAAP required.
  • Licensing: CPA required.
  • Preferred Experience: Employee Benefit Plan audits for Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, and Health & Welfare plans. Former public accounting experience or experience with Benefits Accounting and Compensation-related accounting strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and intellectual curiosity for continuous learning.
