Job Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Private Equity Accountant to take charge of our client's private equity fund accounting activities. As the Lead Private Equity Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day accounting tasks for the private equity funds.

Responsibilities:
As Lead Private Equity Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing day-to-day accounting tasks for private equity funds, overseeing a team of accountants
  • Performing fund valuation and financial statement preparation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Conducting portfolio reconciliations and diligently resolving any discrepancies
  • Assisting in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reports
  • Collaborating with external auditors during fund audits to ensure a smooth auditing process
  • Participating in investment-related research and analysis to support decision-making
  • Assisting in the creation and improvement of accounting processes for enhanced efficiency
  • Monitoring cash flows and fund expenses to maintain financial stability
  • Ensuring strict adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations

Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Lead Private Equity Accountant, you should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in fund accounting within the private equity industry
  • Proven leadership skills with prior experience in supervising a team
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and accounting software
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements and reporting in the private equity sector
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
