Job Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Private Equity Accountant to take charge of our client's private equity fund accounting activities. As the Lead Private Equity Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day accounting tasks for the private equity funds.
Responsibilities:
As Lead Private Equity Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:
- Managing day-to-day accounting tasks for private equity funds, overseeing a team of accountants
- Performing fund valuation and financial statement preparation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Conducting portfolio reconciliations and diligently resolving any discrepancies
- Assisting in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reports
- Collaborating with external auditors during fund audits to ensure a smooth auditing process
- Participating in investment-related research and analysis to support decision-making
- Assisting in the creation and improvement of accounting processes for enhanced efficiency
- Monitoring cash flows and fund expenses to maintain financial stability
- Ensuring strict adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations
Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Lead Private Equity Accountant, you should have:
- 5+ years of experience in fund accounting within the private equity industry
- Proven leadership skills with prior experience in supervising a team
- Proficiency in financial reporting and accounting software
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data integrity
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Familiarity with compliance requirements and reporting in the private equity sector
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
