Position Overview – Internal Controls Analyst:
Join our client's team as a Senior Internal Controls Analyst and play a crucial role in ensuring financial integrity and systems controls meet compliance standards. This position focuses on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance and internal controls, offering opportunities for career growth and significant responsibilities.

Compensation: $90,000.00 – $105,000.00
Location: Middlesex County, Massachusetts – Hybrid (potentially remote) 

Responsibilities as the Internal Controls Analyst include:

  • Facilitating the SOX 404 Program, scoping, setting the global calendar, and executing sample testing
  • Managing internal compliance routines and assessments for ongoing SOX compliance
  • Analyzing and recommending modifications and improvements to controls
  • Leading documentation of transactional processes using Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel
  • Collaborating with management on process and control improvement initiatives
  • Assessing and implementing formal SOX compliance plans and timelines
  • Supporting the internal quality control process, assessing top SOX risks, and performing pre-audit testing
  • Participating in internal and external audits, tracking and monitoring reported deficiencies
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and departmental policies

Qualifications for the Internal Controls Analyst include:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline (Master's in Business Administration or Finance preferred)
  • 5-7 years in public and private accounting with at least three years in internal control and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • CPA or CIA preferred
  • Knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Control (GRC) frameworks and tools (COBIT, COSO, etc.)
  • Experience in Access Management and Segregation of Duties (SOD)
  • Self-starter with adaptability to change and a bias for execution
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, deliverables, and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
