Job Overview – GP Accounting Manager (Hybrid):
Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a GP Accounting Manager to join our client’s private equity team in New York, NY (Hybrid). In this high-visibility role, you’ll lead GP-level accounting and reporting, manage partner capital and liquidity, and oversee intercompany transactions. You’ll also drive automation initiatives and mentor staff while leveraging systems like Workday and GPx. Ideal for a CPA with strong GP accounting experience looking to impact strategic financial operations.
Responsibilities as the GP Accounting Manager:
- Team Management: Lead hybrid teams, delegate responsibilities, and support staff development through performance reviews and coaching.
- Accounting Oversight: Review journal entries, trial balances, and financial statements using Workday to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Liquidity & Capital Management: Track GP contributions, distributions, and cash balances while managing liquid investments like T-bills.
- Partner Reporting: Prepare capital account roll-forwards, carried interest models, and partner distribution statements.
- Budget & Expense Control: Oversee budgets, accruals, and variance analysis while managing GP reimbursements and associated financial tracking activities.
- Systems & Compliance: Drive automation and system implementations (GPx, Workday) while ensuring investment and compliance reporting accuracy.
Qualifications for the GP Accounting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Licensure: CPA license is required.
- Experience: 6-10 years of GP accounting experience within private equity or closed-end fund structures, including direct staff management, with a background in private or public/private firms preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Workday, Microsoft Excel, and GPx or similar allocation/investor systems.
- Attributes: Strategic, detail-oriented, and analytical, with a proactive mindset and the ability to manage high-level stakeholder communication.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of GP-level accounting, private equity structures, carried interest, and partner capital allocations.
