Position Overview – Fund Accountant / Senior Finance Associate:
Join our client's team as a Fund Accountant / Senior Finance Associate, managing accounting and reporting for debt investments. Our client is a leading alternative investment manager who is looking to employ someone to who as a passion for compliance, financial reporting, and control processes for multiple Private Debt Funds.
Compensation: $110,000.00 – $125,000.00 + bonus
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Responsibilities of the Fund Accountant / Senior Finance Associate include:
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various Private Debt funds
- Reviewing the work of fund administrators for different Private Debt funds
- Managing all accounting, reporting, and compliance activities for specific Senior Debt funds
- Administering these funds, including coordinating capital calls, distributions, and calculations
- Recording daily activities in the general ledger and portfolio accounting system
- Updating the investment portfolio for different Private Debt funds
- Tracking interest payment receipts across the portfolio
- Overseeing daily cash management, monitoring, and bank reconciliations
- Calculating fund-level returns and communicating performance to Investor Relations
- Collaborating with external auditors for year-end audited financials
Qualifications of the Senior Finance Debt Associate include:
- A Master’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years of related experience, including financial reporting exposure
- CPA certification and prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is advantageous
- SEC-related experience and familiarity with BDC (Business Development Company) concepts is beneficial
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
