Job Overview – Reporting Specialist:
We are seeking a Reporting Specialist to join our client's Controller's department. In this role, you will contribute to the execution of accounting principles’ disclosure requirements while optimizing, compiling, and analyzing audited statements and management reports. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Compensation: $95,000 – $125,000 + bonus + pension
Location: Boston, Massachusetts – Hybrid (3 days in office, two days at home)

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret regulatory reporting requirements to produce audited statement reports
  • Monitor and document key controls for regulatory filings, analysis, and sign-offs
  • Supervise offshore team members in preparing, reviewing, and submitting financial reports
  • Maximize report value and optimize processes
  • Provide insightful analysis for key constituents
  • Lead and participate in complex cross-functional projects
  • Research and interpret accounting policy changes and trends
  • Drive continuous improvement within reporting processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience with audited statements, including disclosures, OR 3+ years of experience in audited statutory and GAAP reporting in life insurance companies
  • 3+ years of experience with general ledger reporting cubes and data gathering
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting background
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification
  • Knowledge of advanced insurance and investment statutory accounting principles
  • Proficiency in tools, applications, queries for report creation and configuration
