Job Overview – Finance Operations Specialist
Take on a pivotal role with our client, focusing on enhancing and professionalizing the Finance and Accounting functions of portfolio companies. The Finance Operations Specialist will work closely with management teams to evaluate performance metrics and drive key financial initiatives.
Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: Westchester County, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Finance Operations Specialist:
- Financial Systems Implementation: Improve financial reporting quality, timeliness, and accuracy; support third-party and internal audits.
- Performance Metrics Development: Develop KPIs and dashboards, including cash flow forecasting and operational trends.
- Key Initiatives Execution: Manage debt financings, acquisitions, exits, and operational improvement plans.
- Collaboration: Work closely with portfolio company CFOs to enhance management information availability and accuracy.
- Systems Oversight: Upgrade portfolio companies’ information systems for disciplined financial planning and control.
- Management Support: Provide CFOs with guidance on managing revenues, expenses, capital expenditures, and cash flows.
- Strategic Planning: Support the development of budgets, financial plans, and relevant financial management information.
Qualifications for the Finance Operations Specialist:
- Experience: 15+ years in financial management roles (VP Finance, Corporate Controller, etc.)
- Preferred Experience: Audit, advisory, systems implementation, or experience with private equity-backed businesses.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Excel, QuickBooks, Netsuite, Sage, Salesforce.com, OneStream, and DataRails.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in building finance organizations, accounting, corporate finance, control, audit, treasury, and risk management.
- Skills: High work ethic, project management across time zones, excellent communication, and a strong fit in a performance-based team environment.
- Education: Undergraduate degree required (CPA preferred).
