The Corporate Reporting Controller will be responsible for supporting the broader corporate controller team in day-to-day accounting, reporting, and analysis. The Corporate Controller focuses on consolidations and general ledger support. The candidate will be involved in special projects and work with other groups such as Legal Entity Controllers, Fund Controllers, External Reporting, Treasury, Accounting Policy, SOX, Technology, and External Auditors.

Highlights About the Company & Position:

  • Assist in the consolidation process including the review of intercompany and other associated transaction journal entries related to Variable Interest Entities.
  • Assist in the preparation of Analytics decks related to Apollo’s Earnings Release, Form 10-Q, and Form 10-K.
  • Preparation and review of quarterly balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis.
  • Preparation and review of journal entries for monthly and quarterly close processes; review related account analysis/reconciliations for accuracy.
  • Operationalize new strategic transactions based on guidance from Accounting Policy.
  • Manage GL maintenance including setup/changes involving new accounts, departments, and legal entities.
  • Management of standalone and subsequent parent close cycles.
  • Maintain a strong SOX controls environment and ensure proper documentation of SOX control processes.
  • Record/review/manage eliminations required for consolidated reporting.
  • Liaise between various groups including Legal Entity Controllers, Fund Controllers, External Reporting, Treasury, Accounting Policy, SOX, Technology, and External Auditors to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely accounting information and analysis with a focus on maintaining data integrity on all deliverables.


  • 6 plus years of experience.
  • U.S. GAAP technical accounting expertise and consolidation experience preferred.
  • Financial and SEC reporting experience is a plus.
  • CPA or equivalent and combination of Big 4 and industry experience preferred.
  •  Exposure to corporate re-organizations, mergers, and transactions a plus.
  •  Experience with OneStream or other corporate performance management systems a plus (e.g., Essbase / Hyperion and PeopleSoft).
  •  Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills and work well in a team environment.
  • Advanced Excel with extensive knowledge in utilizing advanced formulas, pivot tables, and macros is required.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  •  Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability in taking initiative and being a resourceful, independent self-starter.
  •  Candidate must have an analytical, logical thought process for developing solutions.
