Position Overview – Controls Oversight Associate I (Staff Level):
Join our client's team as a Controls Oversight Associate I, contributing to the financial controls processes within the Controllers Organization. Compensation: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 + bonus
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Responsibilities as the Controls Oversight Associate I include:
- Engaging with internal stakeholders and external auditors to monitor control deficiencies
- Taking ownership of overseeing the company’s financial internal control environment
- Assisting in managing and reporting on trends related to control issues
- Supporting the standardization of control deficiency assessment and remediation plan development
- Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of controls through targeted quality review procedures
- Supporting the testing of internal controls
- Conducting independent research to resolve unique or complex business problems
- Demonstrating strong accountability and commitment
- Proactively owning assignments and driving them through to completion
- Bringing intellectual curiosity to continuously learn and deepen understanding of tasks
Qualifications for the Controls Oversight Associate I include:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of and experience with US GAAP or Statutory accounting/reporting
- Preferred: MBA or equivalent
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct independent research
