Job Overview – Associate Director of SEC Reporting (Hybrid):
Take on a leadership role as the Associate Director of SEC Reporting with our client in Burlington, MA, overseeing financial reporting and compliance. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Accounting, you will lead the preparation of financial statements, navigate complex technical accounting matters, and ensure adherence to SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP. This role will also support external audits, enhance internal controls, and drive efficiency in reporting processes.
Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000/year + bonus
Location: Burlington, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Associate Director of SEC Reporting:
- SEC Filings: Lead preparation and review of 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, 8-K, and earnings releases, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Technical Accounting: Research complex accounting issues, including M&A, lease accounting, stock compensation, and segment reporting.
- Audit & SOX Compliance: Manage annual audits, quarterly reviews, and maintain internal controls in line with SOX requirements.
- Equity & Financial Reporting: Oversee stock compensation accounting and reporting, managing the equity administration platform.
- Process & Compliance Improvements: Enhance financial reporting processes, accounting policies, and internal controls for efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with investor relations, legal, and executive teams to ensure seamless financial disclosures.
Qualifications for the Associate Director of SEC Reporting:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive technical accounting and SEC reporting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and corporate experience.
- Licensure: Active CPA license required.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and AICPA regulations, with experience in 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, 8-K, Proxy filings and SOX compliance (IFRS preferred).
- Systems Proficiency: Experience with Toppan Platform and an equity administration platform (E-Trade) strongly preferred.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while driving process improvements.
