Job Overview – Assistant Controller (Manufacturing):
Step into a leadership role as an Assistant Controller with our manufacturing client in Allentown, PA, overseeing financial operations for a multi-facility organization. In this in-office position, you’ll guide a dedicated finance team, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and strategic financial planning to drive organizational success.
Compensation: $130,000 – $140,000/year + bonus
Location: Allentown, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Assistant Controller:
- Leadership: Mentor and manage a finance team across multiple locations, overseeing AP/AR, billing, payroll, and general ledger activities while ensuring GAAP compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Direct the month-end close process, prepare accurate financial statements, and maintain adherence to reporting standards.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership to provide financial analysis, performance insights, and actionable recommendations for planning initiatives.
- Internal Controls: Develop and enforce robust internal controls while ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Technical Accounting: Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues, offering guidance to the finance team.
- Audit Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, ensuring smooth and timely year-end reporting.
Qualifications for the Assistant Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting required.
- Certification: CPA preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: At least 5 years of Accounting or Finance experience required, with 3+ years in a management role (manufacturing industry experience preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in US GAAP, ERP/BI implementation (Infor CSI a plus), and advanced knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools.
- Attributes: Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive leader with exceptional analytical and communication skills.
