Position Overview – Accounting Manager (Credit/Debt Funds):
Embark on an exciting career as an Accounting Manager (Credit/Debt Funds). This role involves overseeing debt investment accounting, managing financial information, and ensuring accurate recording of fund portfolios. Compensation: $115,000.00 – $125,000.00 + bonus
Location: Boston, Massachusetts – Hybrid

Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager include:

  • Oversee portfolios of debt investments, supervising daily workflow and monthly financial statement close process
  • Prepare and review Fund/Account closing and consolidation processes, including bond, loan, warehouse, and securitization accounting
  • Assist in financial statement preparation and supporting materials
  • Manage external audit processes and third-party relationships
  • Review debt investment budgets and forecasts
  • Support portfolio management in compiling internal reporting packages and ad hoc requests
  • Assist in the preparation of investor requests and perform REIT qualification testing
  • Preparation of related party and joint venture partner reconciliations and payments
  • Effectively use information technology systems to address accounting needs
  • Manage and develop team members, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement
  • Assist in investor capital calls, distribution notices, and capital account statements

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager include:

  • 5+ years of practical accounting experience
  • Demonstrated management skills, including team building and talent growth
  • General ledger maintenance, consolidations, and eliminations
  • Practical accounting knowledge of account balances
  • Full disclosure financial statement preparation, including footnotes
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Multifamily real estate accounting/management
  • Familiarity with REIT tax compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting
  • CPA or CPA qualified preferred
