Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000 + bonus
Location: New York City
Scope:
The Accountant is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities within the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the following —
- Collaborating with the Accounting team to produce and refine quarterly and annual SEC reporting and related documents
- Performing month-end and quarterly closing of the Company's books and records
- Preparing journal entries and supporting schedules as required
- Monitoring and verifying activity related to the Company's investment activities
- Assisting in the reconciliation of cash and investment activity
- Helping maintain internal controls over financial reporting and assisting in SOX reviews
- Supporting all audit-related reviews and responding to inquiries as needed
- Assisting with special projects, reporting, and analysis as required

- Strong accounting skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively with financial and operational team members
- Organized, detail-oriented, motivated, and quick to learn
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Accounting or Finance Degree preferred; CPA is a plus
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in the financial services industry is
- Big 4 experience, preferably in a REIT, is a plus
