  • Work independently in the field with people of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds and likings who have a mental illness and are living in the community, primarily, in single and scatter-site apartment and SRO lodging
  • Advance and observe individual service plans in union with agency consumers, recognize and document any issues in daily living skills.
  • Play a noteworthy role as a member of the social service team in the development of off-site recreation, socialization, educational and skill building activities with a view towards community inclusion and integration.
  • Participate in ongoing individual and group supervision, team meetings, case conferences, division meetings and trainings is required.




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field mandatory
  • At least 2 years’ experience with people with mental illness, substance abuse problems and/or a past of homelessness obligatory
  • Experience in scattered site setting strongly favored
  • Experience in group work, tenant organization, case management, referral, and/or community outreach strongly preferred
  • Experience or training in peer counseling or advocacy preferred
  • Working knowledge of various computer programs including e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows Operating System
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Valid NYS driver’s license preferred
