Temporary EFDA Dental Assistant

Bucks County, PA

Atlantic Group is partnering with a local Dental Organization who is looking for an enthusiastic Temporary EFDA Dental Assistant who would enjoy being an integral part of an expanding patient centered practice.

The EFDA Dental Assistant assists the dentist in many aspects of direct patient care and performs other clinical and clerical functions. They would be responsible to set up and clean the dental unit and operatory for timely turnover and provide appropriate Oral Health information and education of the patient.

In addition to the traditional Dental Assistant’s duties, responsibilities and competencies, an Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) is able to work independently (under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist) and multitask in a dental setting. This classification is distinguished from other classifications, in that employees assigned to it must hold an EFDA license and perform EFDA duties. Not all states allow dental assistants to complete these tasks. Each state regulates the scope of practice for a dental assistant and may require them to take specific exams or meet other requirements before allowing them to perform these procedures.
