Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the design and operations of Cloud Platforms – including Azure and
  • Participate in defining and implementing the overall structure and standards for systems
  • Provide day-to-day systems, server, and network engineering support functions for various systems and platforms, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory, various distributions of Linux infrastructure, and 3rd party application platforms. Participate with cross-discipline teams as
  • Analyze, report, and advise on various systems and applications performance
  • Research and implementation of new Azure tools to improve efficiency, performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Limit downtime on all environments.
  • Participate in the creation (or modification) of documentation activities related to system configuration, policies, and procedures.
  • Acquire knowledge, via both formal and on-the-job training of the various 3rd party packaged software applications and custom solutions used to provide systems monitoring, management, and reporting within the Digital service offering.
  • Additional duties as identified.

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience working in Microsoft’s Azure Platform with both their PaaS and IaaS offerings ideally in a “DevOps” role; experience with Git version control processes and automating/scripting environment deployments from Azure “DevOps” (formally “VSTS”) highly preferred
  • Relevant certificates in Azure, DevOps, etc. will be considered a strong plus.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration of Azure technologies. Examples: PowerShell/ARM Template scripting, Azure Automation, Chef, Puppet
  • Experience working in a DevOps/Agile team setting
  • Experience working in and/or implementing “compliance” environments such as SOC2, ISO27001, HIPAA, etc.
  • Exposure working in Amazon’s AWS / EC2 infrastructure (or similar provider) useful
  • Progressive experience in supporting information systems implementation, support, and monitoring, preferably within (but not limited to) a predominantly Microsoft environment
  • BS or BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Experience in large, production-oriented service operations, with experience in a 24x7x365 service delivery model supporting mission-critical business operations with large data volumes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly research new platforms and issues
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills with high level attention to detail
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work full time in a fast-paced office environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the work day
