Sr. Security Engineer (Director Title)

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for countermeasure planning, design and enhancements
  • Hands-on deployment of new technologies and security capabilities.
  • Manage projects and vendors providing operational or professional services.
  • Work closely with IT Infrastructure, Application Development and other non-IT lines of business to assist with security considerations during decision-making.
  • Serve as the security liaison on select infrastructure, application and database projects and day-to-day app/data activities.
  • Create, maintain and update security processes and documentation, such as the secure SDLC process, and coordinate with PMO teams to ensure they’re followed throughout IT.
  • Create, maintain and update a threat tree library by performing regular threat assessments to identify which behaviors and actions can be prevented or detected using company technology.
  • Responsible for setting security architecture requirements and performing security architecture reviews for cloud initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of current security trends and be able to clearly communicate them to the team and to other employees to encourage secure culture across the firm.
  • Monitor public security advisories and alerts for information related to the corporate IT environment
  • Participate in and contribute to security team meetings, strategy sessions and broader IT and firmwide initiatives.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree , additional degree preferred
  • At least 8-10 years of experience working in the Finance industry in a Cybersecurity or IT role.
  • Industry certifications preferred (CISSP, CISA, CEH, GSEC, or similar)
  • Broad knowledge of security technologies and trends
  • Detailed knowledge of several cybersecurity domains.
  • Hands on experience with at least two of Application Security, Cloud Security or Infrastructure/Systems Security
  • Ability to apply technical concepts to problem solving.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation (Powershell a plus).
  • Working familiarity with industry frameworks such as NIST CSF and CIS20
