Sr. Developer/Database Architect

Responsibilities

 

  • Diagnose complex technical and business problems and implement creative solutions that leverage core stack capabilities to meet our users’ needs
  • Architecting solutions and developing new components, enhancements, and maintenance of various applications that integrate with Geneva portfolio accounting system and other third-party vendor solutions.
  • Enhance software development lifecycle to ensure industry best practices for agile development.
  • Design database schema including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, etc. in the MS SQL Server database to hold extracted data.
  • Develop framework of technical assets that will leveraged by business solutions team to rapidly drive data, reporting and workflow solutions for business units.

  • Design and create SSIS packages to consume the CSV files and onboard the data in the data warehouse
  • Oversee execution and stability of critical daily technology processes including internal performance calculations, application integrations with data warehouse and the exchange of data with business’ administrator and third parties
  • Drive the development and maintenance of company data governance model and data management tools including the development of an integrity report framework focused on isolating data inconsistencies
  • Design efficient schema and database models to support growing technology stack, investment modeling and an increasing number of application and third-party points of integration
  • Provide guidance and oversight for technology implementations including working with internal constituents as well as external resources and vendors to drive the project to successful completion
  • Provide direction to the development efforts by third party consultancies and vendors including design and code reviews

 

Requirements

 

  • Qualified candidates must possess a Computer Science or Technical degree with 8-10 years of applicable technical experience
  • Candidate must have experience leading team of internal and/or external developers through the development of a complex software solution to meet user mission critical objectives
  • Experience in data warehouse development and architecture for financial services institutions required
  • Experience architecting technical solutions for complex problems and delivering them to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must have deep understanding of ETL leveraging Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) as well as database theory, design, and maintenance
  • Must have experience with implementing and automating database security, backups, and recoveries as well as performance tuning and capacity planning/monitoring
  • Deep understanding of storage technologies, archiving, and networking
  • Experience across all phases of the SDLC and Agile software development practices
  • Experience as a Database Administrator(Query performance tuning, archiving and backups) a plus
  • Experience in reporting, analytics, and data visualizations using cloud technologies such as Azure required
  • Ability to become a trusted advisor by building and managing relationships with clients, colleagues, vendors, and other industry professionals
