Sr. Compensation Consultant

Responsibilities

 

  • Works with company departments’ management to write and update accurate job descriptions for revised and new positions within the organization as needed.
  • Gathers and examines salary surveys and attains wide-ranging market data to market price the positions and relate internally to company positions. Recommends new position pay levels and/or geographic differentials based on conclusions made from compiled research.
  • Conducts job evaluations and benchmark studies to ensure pay levels are externally competitive and internally equitable.
  • Obtains management’s approval on job descriptions, approve job descriptions, create job codes for new positions and send job codes to HRIS.
  • Completes annual salary surveys by matching company’s positions to survey positions and submit to survey companies.
  • Prepares departments’ focal review spreadsheets including merit increase prorations and coordinate the process and obtain final approvals. Email final approved spreadsheets to department heads for communication to employees.
  • Reviews internal salary increases and external offers to prospective new hires for internal equity and recommend salary amount.
  • Prepares annual salary planning benchmarking, cost analyses, merit matrix adjustments and make recommendations to senior management and roll out salary ranges and matrices to the company.
  • Participates in yearend compensation evaluations responding to questions and providing guidance throughout the process.
  • Prepares geographic salary differentials.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable
  • 5 – 8 years’ related experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • SHRM Certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP) is desirable, or a plus.
  • Knowledge of compensation systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC applications and Microsoft Office applications required.
