We are representing a Senior Development Project Manager opportunity with an iconic New York-based developer of sustainable, affordable, and mixed-use residential development around the country.

  • The Senior Development Project Manager will oversee the entire development process, including entitlement, the selection of architects and other professionals, arranging often complex financing, construction management, and, ultimately, marketing and lease-up
  • Site Acquisition and Due Diligence: analyzing site feasibility, preparing RFP responses, and gathering necessary information for approval of the investment
  • Approvals: manage the public approval process, includes meetings with public officials and community representatives
  • Financial Management: develop proformas and updating as the project progresses, approving invoices, tracking development costs and budget variances, collaborating effectively with the Accounting Department
  • Project Management: maintain overall schedule for the project, manage and coordinate the design consultants and project team, attend all regularly schedule project oversight meetings, facilitate community outreach, prepare reports for management, investors and partners, and review legal documents to ensure key business terms are accurately reflected
  • Project Financing:  sourcing and negotiating terms for equity and debt and managing the closing process.  Preparation of appropriate applications for funding resources.  Familiarity with city funding agreement is a plus
  • Marketing: develop presentations for internal and external communications, and works with Marketing Department on marketing strategy for the completed development
  • Lease-up: oversee lease-up through stabilization and transfer of property oversight to Asset Management Department




  • 7-10 years of experience managing from pre-development to construction oversight to lease up
  • Experience with affordable housing, a plus, particularly in the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and DC markets
  • Masters or better in either Real Estate Development, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ability to travel, at least once a quarter, to mostly east-coast-based developments (although the firm is actively working on California developments, too
