Responsibilities

 

  • Manages the continuing growth of the Credit Center of Excellence, with the main emphasis on the large and intricate credit relationships in the Americas.
  • Reduces bad-debt write-offs by correctly evaluating new or current customer’s credit worthiness in association to credit policy.
  • Determine customer credit limits that suitably balance the risks and rewards of deals and relationships.
  • Prepare credit summaries, reports and analysis on payment performance, credit exposures, credit limits and key credit metrics for presentation to management.
  • Resolves complex problems where analysis of financial and credit situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors including financial analysis, country analysis, competitor payment analysis, T&C contract negotiations and portfolio / customer linkage analysis.
  • Evaluates adherence to credit policy, validation of reporting and ongoing assessment of credit policy effectiveness.
  • Escalates customer AR issues to internal partners.
  • Partners with sales support, customer service and accounts receivable in reconciling accounts.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of credit policies, procedures and underwriting standards based on best practices, internal/external control standards and compliance requirements.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of automated tools, such as credit scoring models.
  • Shares best practices and information within the credit community
  • Manages workouts and payment plans for large past due customers in collaboration with internal legal, commercial and operations personnel.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of credit experience
  • Experience working within a large, multi-national company assisting commercial customers
  • Experience working in the industrial, capital goods or heavy equipment manufacturing areas
  • Solid partnering abilities with commercial, finance and operations teams
