  • Set up security measures (including audit logs and SIEM technology) that help detect and/or prevent security breaches, as well as analyze any breaches that do occur.
  • Recommend new security tools to management and report and provide guidance and expertise in their implementation.
  • Design and maintain agency security awareness program.
  • Recommend a course of action to mitigate risk and ensure that appropriate security standards are established and published. Contribute to the achievements of Information Security objectives.
  • Understanding of all physical and technical security controls.
  • Analyze existing security systems and make recommendations for security changes or improvements to the current situation; evaluate trends; and anticipate requirements.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Participate on complex, comprehensive or large projects and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management solutions, risk assessments and compliance management.
  • Understanding of two-factor authentication.
  • Keep up to date on current security trends and vulnerabilities.
  • Performs other related duties as required.




  • Minimum of two (2) years working in cybersecurity.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of security concepts (Application, Web and Network security, Identity and Access Management, Security protocols, Cryptography, etc.).
  • General knowledge of networking, networking certifications a plus.
  • Excellent foundation in overall security standards, and security policy creation.
  • Understanding of firewalls with a very good understanding of the architecture behind secure networks, DMZ’s, NAT’s, rule placement, VPN setup, and system maintenance.
  • Good analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under close supervision, as well as unsupervised.
  • Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs, sit or stand for long periods of time throughout the work day.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience performing advance help desk/ operations functions.
