Payroll Analyst

Responsibilities

 

 

  • Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with company policy and applicable federal, state and local tax jurisdiction laws.
  • Reviewing transactions fed from HCM system to Payroll system such as new hires, terminations and compensation changes and updating necessary required information in Payroll system as well as calculating any related payments.
  • Entering tax status and miscellaneous other employee master file changes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Performs payroll processing activities, on a weekly and bi-weekly basis including computing wage and overtime payments and calculating and recording payroll deductions.
  • Assists with the processing of garnishments.
  • Researches and resolves employee payroll-related issues.
  • Calculating and requesting payments for union benefits on a weekly and monthly basis for assigned unions.
  • Assists General Accounting Department with bank reconciliation and general ledger inquiries.
  • Maintains tax jurisdiction files. Responsible for assisting Payroll vendor with researching and resolving any tax agency delinquencies and discrepancies.

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Two to five years of payroll experience required.
  • Experience with ADP payroll processing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Workday or Ceridian a plus.
  • Union experience a plus.
