Patent Secretary

Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor filing deadlines for all US and foreign patent applications
  • Assists with the preparation and filing of patent applications and related documents with the USPTO
  • Assists with the preparation and filing of Post Grant proceedings
  • Prepare correspondence, create reporting letters and legal documents utilizing in-house software/database tool.
  • Create, maintain, and organize electronic files
  • Assist with coordination of incoming and outgoing file transfers
  • Communicate with attorneys and helps balance the team’s workload to ensure completion of projects
  • Provide administrative support to legal team by ensuring the organization of work flow, processing timesheets, client bills, and expenses
  • Assist in organizing work schedules by maintaining calendars and contacts, scheduling appointments and coordinating travel arrangements
  • Assist legal team with non-client matters, which may include miscellaneous work and “pro bono” legal work
  • Maintain a professional relationship with other legal counsel, courts, agencies, and professional organizations
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • 2-7+ years IP support experience
  • Experience with Windows operating system, IPDAS, CPi, iManage, and InterAction preferred
  • BA/BS highly preferred
  • Experience with e-Filing
