Logistics Coordinator

Responsibilities

 

  • Looks over purchase orders, and purchase requests for proper approvals, quantities, descriptions, and process and guarantees correctness.
  • Supports other departments to attain suitable material at best possible terms. Suggests substitute or alternative sources of supply where a savings in cost or delivery will result.
  • Interacts with vendors to follow-up on active orders to ascertain status of delivery dates, quantities and means of shipment.
  • Distributes information related to material availabilities and record discrepancies.
  • Follows up with vendors to ensure credit memos are received from supplier when products are returned or scrapped.
  • Researches and reviews open P.O. reports on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy of reports and to determine if materials are overdue.
  • Prepares reports as required by other departments.
  • Maintains required records and performs filing for purchasing.
  • Communicates with QS as necessary to assure materials are off-test in time to meet production schedule requirements.
  • Assists in facilitating purchase order changes to compensate for shortages.
  • May refer to senior staff, if applicable, for assistance with day-to-day problems that may arise.
  • Escalates issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree necessary; in lieu of degree, additional years of experience and/or education may be contemplated.
  • At least zero to two years of associated experience.
  • Capability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Competence to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
