Position Overview



  • Identify accounting issues, research technical position, and advise on appropriate accounting guidance
  • Prepare technical memos documenting research, analysis, and resolution of significant accounting issues encountered
  • Follow all relevant US GAAP standard setting and other technical accounting updates and interpretations affecting MSUSA and MCM and distribute quarterly updates
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures around areas of development which arise from the business initiatives and transactions for MSUSA and MCM.
  • Update and review MSUSA’s and MCM’s Accounting Procedures and Policy Manual on an ad hoc and periodic basis to reflect changes in guidance and practice
  • Review legal documents, including intercompany agreements among Mizuho entities, for application to accounting records and processes
  • Assist with the automation/analysis of new areas of financial reporting
  • Work with IT resources on the construction of Accounting related platforms/reports; assist with defining business requirements and testing platform/report builds
  • Provide support to BHC Accounting Policy team on technical accounting matters as related to MSUSA’s and MCM’s accounting issues
  • Establish and deliver on project plans with respect to requirements analysis, impact assessment, implementation and documentation efforts for new accounting and financial reporting projects throughout the organization
  • Responsible for review and filing of MSUSA and MCM legal entity financial statements and disclosures
  • Responsible for review and filing of 401K financial statements
  • Responsible for Form 5500 filings for all plans
  • Responsible for financial statement annual audits including deliverables, checklists and any analytics required







  • Ideally the candidate should have worked in a public accounting environment as oppose a private only environment. Preference would be for someone with a Financial Services background specifically with a broker dealer as a client.






  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • CPA license
  • 4-5 years (senior associate) level experience
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Good memo and documentation writing skills
