Financial Analyst Operations

Responsibilities

 

  • Partner with business units, manufacturing, and supply chain management to lead reviews of manufacturing variances and standard costing updates. Present findings and recommendation and additional ad hoc reporting.
  • Gather financial data required to complete budget and forecast activities. Deliver accurate budget projections for all financial flows and transactions involved in the production process. Challenge the status quo, streamline processes and deliver reliable financial forecasts
  • Monitor and report on key inventory balances and reserves on a monthly and quarterly basis, identify and report on exceptions for processes such as inventory levels by product group or business unit, excess & obsolescence reserves, lower of cost of market, POV, PPV, absorption, etc.
  • Support the preparation of standard costs for products moving through the internal and external supply organizations in compliance with Company policies.
  • Monitor and report distributor channel inventory levels.
  • Responsible for critical internal controls regarding cycle counts, physical inventory procedures, precious metals, etc. and working with external auditors as needed.
  • Perform month-end closing activities including preparation and submission of journal entries and account reconciliations, monitoring and validation of accruals, analysis and validation of manufacturing variances to standard costs and calculation and booking of capitalization of variances to standard costs.
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end reporting and providing monthly commentary to explain variances between actual results and / or budget / forecasts.

 

 

Requirements

 

  • BS in Accounting or Finance. CMA, CPA or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years finance experience, with strong manufacturing, inventory, cost and operations focus.
  • Substantial working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial modeling.
  • Exposure to an organization with multiple operating entities including international operations.
  • SAP FI/CO experience preferred.
  • Some US and International travel may be required.
  • Experience / understanding in the following is a plus: full absorption costing, certified cost and pricing, EAR99/ ITAR classifications or government costing principles DCAA / DCMA
