Finance Associate-Transactions

Responsibilities

 

  • The candidate will be a key member of a team that is responsible for supporting the global finance-related transaction operations. This includes preparing complex investor allocations for new and follow-on investments, sales and other liquidity transactions. This also includes calculating the outcome of these complex allocations and translating them into highly tailored and transparent investor communications, such as deal specific capital call and distribution notices, and circulating these notices to hundreds of investors in an efficient and clear manner.
  • Capture data and track various types of investor-specific rolling balances utilized when performing allocations which will need to be reconciled with multiple sources on an on-going basis. Examples of other finance-related responsibilities include: preparing transaction-specific borrowing and repayment advances, preparing cross-border fund flow schedules to close transactions, help coordinate the settlement of public market transactions (i.e. pre-trade analysis, post-trade SEC reporting, and various reconciliation schedules).
  • Prepare share reconciliations and track the custody information for all underlying investment securities for the company’s global portfolio in accordance with SEC custody rules.
  • Assist with the preparation of various monthly reports for internal and external distribution to key stakeholders. Reporting includes, but is not limited to: capital remaining and unfunded commitment analysis; projected investment schedules; completing various checklist and tracking schedules, and weekly status reports on projects and transaction activity.
  • Address various investor inquiries related to transaction activity and their underlying commitments.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and information required by the company’s internal and external auditors, SEC regulators, and various other parties.
  • Open various broker accounts for the underlying investment partnerships that invest globally in various regions. This will involve addressing KYC (Know Your Client) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures.
  • Assist in a variety of special reporting projects generally involving the accumulation, aggregation, or disaggregation of various finance data elements to be maintained in various data structures. The associate will generally not have to record journal entries; he or she will be expected to learn how to use the general ledger system and portfolio software to permit reconciliation of analytical reports with accounting data.

 

Requirements

 

  • Finance or Accounting degree with a minimum of 4 to 6 years of work experience.
  • Private equity experience is strongly preferred either with another PE firm or third party administrator.
  • Sharp attention to detail is required with the ability to work timely with high volumes of data.
  • Analytical and critical thinker who is curious with strong problem solving skills.
  • Requires excellent time management and project management skills with ability to multi-task and deliver on deadlines.
