Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise a team of 5 accountants and 3 accounts payable specialists.
  • Responsible for review of monthly G/L closing of all consolidating entities along with the timely review of all schedules/reports supporting the monthly financial statements (e.g. bank recs, investment roll forwards, prepaid insurance/expenses, various receivables, fixed assets and depreciation, accrued liabilities, etc.).
  • Monthly financial trend analysis for senior management and shareholders.
  • Review/preparation of annual audited consolidated financial statements, financial statements and other local statutory financial statements.
  • Prepare and file quarterly FOCUS Reports and maintain monthly net capital calculations ensuring compliance.
  • Assist in and manage the audit process.
  • Assist with the review of the annual tax returns and quarterly tax estimates.
  • Manage and review global cash positions. Prepare necessary money transfers to satisfy local cash needs and ensure regulatory capital compliance.
  • Prepare/review quarterly 12b-1 Board report and other board materials.
  • Review monthly business line reports.
  • Prepare annual budgets as well as monthly budget to actual reports.
  • Prepare monthly cash projections.
  • Review support for all wire transfers, ACH transfers and Amex transfers prior to CFO payment release.
  • Review the monthly wholesaler/internal sales commission calculations.
  • Review sales tax and commercial rent returns.
  • Track potential abandoned property and prepare reports.
  • Monitor changes in accounting and tax principles and assess impact to the Company and communicate to CFO.
  • Suggest to management cost savings opportunities if and when any are noted.
  • Monitoring notes payable to shareholder and making the appropriate interest and principal payments.
  • Oversight of year end 1099 reporting.
  • Monitor the adequacy of corporate insurance coverage.
  • Assist with any regulatory examinations or inquiries.
  • Responsible for compliance with record retention requirements.
  • Maintain current accounting procedures as well as disaster recovery plans.
  • Integrate new acquisitions and subsidiaries into corporate accounting structure.
  • Assist, as needed, in other financial and operational areas of the company.
  • Assist in ad-hoc as needed.

 

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • 8+ years of experience in a management company of corporate controllership vertical
  • AT LEAST 5 years of experience in public accounting, focusing on FS clients.
  • STRONG management experience of at least 5 ppl.
  • Strongly preferred if this person has some experience around listed product (PE is okay, as long as they’ve had other product exposure in their past.)
  • CPA is a 100% requirement. Series 27 a very nice to have.
