Client Operations – Private Markets Analyst

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with middle and back office operations and account services on private market funds
  • Record transactions to company’s portfolio management system
  • Update the company’s portfolio system with performance estimates and final values
  • Liaise with investment managers, third party administrators and prime brokers
  • Track cash flows, including capital calls, distributions, and return of capital
  • Review all transaction documentation and supporting files, and understand the features of the investment transactions and accruals
  • Review monthly closing packages for accuracy and completeness, including capital activity, investment activity, income and expense accruals and valuation adjustments
  • Review management fee calculations, including management fee waiver contributions
  • Review investor allocations and capital account statements
  • Review capital call and distribution calculations, sources/uses of cash, allocations and investor notices
  • Create, maintain and review distribution waterfall (carried interest) models, in keeping with the applicable fund terms
  • Prepare and review financial statements, notes, disclosures and supporting schedules
  • Work on the year-end audit process in collaboration with clients, auditors and service providers
  • Where applicable, support the external tax team with information to prepare tax compliance reports

 

Requirements

 

  • 3 to 5 years of accounting or operations experience at a fund, investment bank or other financial institution
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Solid academic record
