Case Management Supervisor

Atlantic Group is partnering with a large local Insurance client currently seeking a Case Management Supervisor in West Trenton, NJ.   The Case Management Supervisor is responsible and accountable for overseeing the investigation and medical management of claims assigned to their respective team. The position requires the Case Management Supervisor to support Workers’ Compensation in the area of Nurse Case Management.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Document ongoing employee performance and conduct annual employee performance evaluations
  • Certify that staff is adequately trained and has the proper skill sets and knowledge to produce quality work
  • Instruct and counsel team members on new regulations, as well as new and altered processes, procedures and responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to assigned staff including regular coaching and feedback, development and proactive performance management
  • Interview and hire the right candidates to appropriately fill departmental roles, and complete new hire set-up
  • Monitor workloads, productivity and quality to maximize operational effectiveness and to ensure effective and efficient medical management, as well as appropriate and timely claims handling
  • Assist Department Administrator in the following areas:  workforce planning, staffing plans, job design, development plans, coaching and development, performance management and employee relations. Holds staff accountable for producing quality work
  • Review nursing staff work product for accuracy, thoroughness and conformity with applicable State Regulations and NJM’s policies and practices

 

Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 2 years of Case Management experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of Supervisory experience
  • Workers Compensation experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, Auto Medical, and Medicare preferred. Knowledge of professional nursing principles, clinical practice guidelines and appropriate clinical interventions
  • Detail-oriented, strong decision-making and analytical skills
  • Experience with PIP (personally injury protection), Workers Compensation, medical record reviews, medical terminology, appropriate level of health care, treatment modalities and health care delivery systems all preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and database programs, data analysis and data management proficiency
  • Knowledge of professional nursing principles, clinical practice guidelines, and clinical interventions
  • Knowledge of MCG/Millman, Official Disability Guidelines (ODG) and/or other evidence-based guidelines databases
  • Competence in negotiation, quality assurance, case management outcomes, and data analysis
  • BSN preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in New Jersey required
  • Certification in Case Management preferred
  • Displays initiative, motivates staff and fosters teamwork
  • Maintains healthy working relationships, good listener and appreciates diversity
  • Ability to navigate technology and multiple systems effortlessly and readily adapt to changes, when needed
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to display professionalism by having a positive demeanor, proper telephone/email etiquette and using proper language and tone
