Senior Accountant

 

We are a medium size firm with two Connecticut locations (Danbury and Southbury), committed to quality service and focused on client satisfaction. We have a growing audit and tax practice and are looking to expand our team. We offer a quality of life change for those accountants leaving large public accounting practices with shortened summer hours and flexible schedules. Description of role :Coordinate, organize and schedule engagements to ensure all deadlines are met. Prepare financial statements and related disclosures to ensure compliance with reporting requirements Prepare and review engagement workpapers. Prepare related tax returns. Minimal travel requirements. Skills and requirements: BA/BS from an accredited college/university. 3-5 years of related experience. Working knowledge of QuickBooks and MS Office Suite. Experience with Profx systems a plus Must be well organized, detail-oriented with strong communication skills Working towards obtaining CPA License

 

 

Staff Accountant

 

Compilation and review of client financial statements for small businesses. Prepare federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals. Minimal travel requirements. Skills and requirements: BA/BS from an accredited college/university 2+ years of related experience. Working knowledge of QuickBooks and MS Office Suite Experience with Profx systems a plus. Must be well organized, detail-oriented with strong communication skills. Working towards obtaining CPA License.

 

 

Requirements

  • Education: BS/BA accounting; CPA designation or eligibility to sit is highly desirable
  • Minimum 2+ years audit & accounting experience in a public accounting arena
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB rules and standards
  • Knowledge of FAR and CAS
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Strong leadership, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Computer expertise including knowledge of audit-preparation software and an understanding of the impact of technology
  • Strong research skills
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; audit software, ProSystems or GoSystems, and Caseware experience a plus
  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
