Associate- Product Control Reporting

Responsibilities

 

  • Daily P&L reconciliation between front office and back office systems (Geneva).
  • Daily explain of P&L drivers for each underlying investment strategy.
  • Perform analytical control checks to ensure the integrity of Balance Sheet and P&L data on a daily basis.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries from Trading, Marketing, Legal, Middle Office, Operations, Fund Accounting, Tax and other departments.
  • Assist in the automation and improvement of existing processes, with an emphasis on efficiency, scalability, and simplification.
  • Assist in the month end price verification process and coordinate with the Fund Administrators and auditors, when necessary, to resolve pricing challenges.
  • Support the quarterly valuation process; support might include the review or preparation of valuation memos and models
  • Internal and external reporting, including Regulatory Reporting.
  • Coordination with other Product Control team members (across NYC, London, & HK) to ensure 24-hour global coverage and support through appropriate handoffs between regions.

 

Requirements

 

  • Must be motivated, a self-starter and have comfort working in a dynamic environment. Needs to be quick to grasp new concepts and have a hunger for learning new things.
  • BS/BA in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience in a Product Control role at an investment bank or similar function.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a small team environment.
  • A strong understanding of accounting as it relates to the P&L / Balance Sheet production.
  • Understanding of financial instruments with a heavy focus on fixed income credit products (bonds, bank debt) and FX hedging dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel skills in the areas of data management, data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong personal skills and the ability to work well with diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Previous experience with Geneva accounting system a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Alteryx a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg a plus.
