Animal Lab Techs



  • Breeds, raises and cares for small research animals on behalf of, or for sale to, customers.
  • Follows proper breeding and animal care procedures.
  • Observes animal conduct and physical qualities to guarantee animal well-being and confirm suitable phenotype; reports any findings.
  • Guarantees biosecurity.
  • Coordinates with Customer Service on scheduling and order status.
  • Work in a barrier room environment, responsible for a unit of anywhere between 600 and 1100 cages (dependent upon cage size), tasks include general animal husbandry and animal production (breeding) within that unit




  • High school diploma or GED minimum requirement
  • Cannot own rodents or anything that feeds on rodents
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
  • Animal handling experience is great but not required
