Animal Lab Techs

Boston, MA



  • Farms, fosters and takes care of small research animals on behalf of, or for sale to, customers.
  • Abides by appropriate breeding and animal care methods.
  • Inspects animal behavior and physical characteristics to guarantee animal health and verify applicable phenotype; conveys any results.
  • Certifies biosecurity.
  • Works with Customer Service on scheduling and order status.
  • Work in a barrier room environment, liable for a unit of anywhere from 600 and 1100 cages (conditional upon cage size), duties involve general animal husbandry and animal production (breeding) within that unit




  • High school diploma or GED minimum requirement
  • Cannot own rodents or anything that feeds on rodents
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
  • Animal handling experience is great but not required
  • Will consider candidates of various backgrounds but please ensure this is a candidate that is likely to stick around (i.e. solid work history, responsible, has a desire and needs to work, etc.)
