Analyst or Associate- ARI Reporting

 Responsibilities

 

  • Support the finance team in the financial statement close process for a publicly traded real estate investment trust
  • Assist in the preparation of SEC filings (10-Q / 10-K)
  • Operate key detailed accounting models that monitor investments, debt and derivatives
  • Accounting for and hedging transactions denominated in multiple foreign currencies
  • Dedicated daily responsibilities including cash tracking / reporting, expense monitoring and recording related journal entries
  • Support the accounts payable and treasury function
  • Assist in monitoring SOX compliance by performing internal controls and coordinating with internal audit
  • Interaction and coordination with multiple groups such as Operations, Investment Team and Investor relations on ad-hoc and recurring requests/projects
  • Assist in the preparation/review of tax returns and 1099s on an annual basis
  • Support the Controller on quarterly external reviews and annual audits

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. CPA license preferred
  • 2-4 years of public accounting experience; particularly in asset management, alternatives or real estate
  • CPA or equivalent and strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise preferred
  • Individual should have an interest in the credit/real estate markets and a desire to learn about the accounting for different financial products
  • Individual must be collaborative to effectively liaise with various internal departments and colleagues as well as able to work independently
