Responsibilities

 

  • Conjointly with the Business Unit Controller, complete the monthly financial close process to include preparation of month end financial statements including balance sheet, income statements (consolidated and departmental), statement of cash flows, variance analysis and MD&A. Document and maintain Company accounting processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain complete, accurate and timely financial records in compliance with the Parent Company and Business Unit policies and procedures.
  • Review, identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy of the Business Unit accounting records.
  • Identify internal control concerns and partner with other Business Unit departments to mitigate control weaknesses.
  • Reconcile various general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Own the monthly balance sheet review process and manage the timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Work with Corporate accounting as necessary to resolve matters related to the business.
  • Manages various aspects of the general ledger including (but not limited to) operating expenses, accruals, cash, fixed assets, leases, and accounts payable ensuring the Company financial records are kept in accordance with GAAP.
  • Responsible for all general ledger activity in assigned areas, including but not limited to reviewing account reconciliations, knowledge of account balances, and documentation according to company policies.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience. MBA or CPA is strongly preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience.
  • 3+ years Public Accounting experience (Big 4 preferred) and/or public company experience
  • Understand financial measurements: discounted cash flow analysis, IRR, working capital metrics, associated contract terms and conditions, and legal ramifications.
  • Experience with the preparation of financial statements, including statement of cash flows, and accompanying footnotes and disclosures.
  • Competency using large-scale ERP/Accounting systems (Vista preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), with advanced knowledge of Excel.
