Role

 

 

  • Review hedge fund partnership tax returns, including Schedules K-1s and tax allocation, prepared by external accountants
  • Review realized gain/loss reports, qualified dividend reports and unrealized gain/loss reports
  • Ensure totals reconcile to the audited financial statements
  • Review wash sale, constructive sale, 1256 contracts, Sec. 475(f) hedging analysis, straddles, and various additional tax items specific to hedge funds
  • Review interim tax estimates as requested by investor
  • Review management company & proprietary entity tax workpapers and tax returns
  • Prepare quarterly partners’ tax estimates and distribution calculations Review tax depreciation calculation on a monthly basis
  • Review personal property tax returns, excise tax returns and sales and use tax returns
  • Ad hoc involvement with tax projects relating to firm’s overseas operations Interface with external tax service providers and internal departmental personnel on a regular basis
  • Involvement with various ad hoc tax issues and research projects

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • 5-7 yrs HF Tax from public – or Tax person from a hedge fund
  • CPA preferred, not mandatory
