Job Overview – Senior Accountant:
As a Senior Accountant in the field of Financial Services and Research, you will play a pivotal role in our cloint's company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a company while utilizing your expertise in accounting, finance, and business development within the financial services and research industry.

Compensation: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:

  • Overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Performing month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Conducting in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth
  • Supporting external audits and ensuring timely resolution of audit inquiries
  • Monitoring and interpreting changes in accounting regulations, and implementing necessary adjustments
  • Assisting in the development and enhancement of financial reporting systems and tools
  • Participating in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant include:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA qualification
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting role
  • Public accounting or combination of public accounting and industry experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
