Job Overview – Controller
Join our client’s team as a Controller and play a pivotal role in the financial management and strategic planning of our organization. As a key partner to the President and the Board, you will oversee all accounting and finance functions, redefine processes, and drive value across the company. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with hands-on experience in corporate accounting and a passion for process improvement and strategic decision-making.
Compensation: $120,000.00 – $150,000.00 + bonus
Location: Bucks County, PA – Hybrid
Responsibilities of the Controller include:
- Serve as a partner to the President and the Board, providing strategic financial guidance and insights to support decision-making.
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, treasury, and benefits administration.
- Lead the development of financial systems and reporting processes.
- Develop and implement weekly and monthly financial reporting for the PE firm, providing insights into financial performance and key metrics.
- Redefine processes, including inventory procedures, to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the organization.
- Utilize the multiple databases to manage revenue and accounting data and collaborate with other areas such as HR, purchasing, and operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, maintaining accurate financial records and implementing internal controls.
- Drive cash management and treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, loan covenant reporting, and managing banking relationships.
- Analyze financial statements and variances, develop budgets, and provide strategic recommendations to optimize financial performance.
- Act as a thought partner to the President, leveraging your financial expertise to support the company’s growth and long-term success.
Qualifications of the Controller include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
- 8+ years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in small to mid-sized companies with retail/inventory operations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and experience with financial statement analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, and experience with database management systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to take ownership and drive results in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of process improvement and driving value across finance and operations.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting and analysis.
