Role Overview – Assistant Controller:
Our client, a premier investment bank providing elite strategic and financial advice, is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the finance function during an exciting scale-up phase. Reporting to the lead finance executive in a dynamic environment, the ideal candidate will assist with accounting, reporting, planning, and operations to help build infrastructure to match growth ambitions.
Compensation: $130,000.00 – $175,000.00 + bonus
Location: New York City
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller include:
- Preparing management reports across entities
- Enabling consolidated audits and regulatory filings
- Supporting budgeting/forecasting processes
- Liaising with external finance partners
- Managing merchant banking sub-ledgers
- Leading ad hoc analyses and projects
- Evaluating infrastructure and controls
Qualifications for the Assistant Controller include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
- 4-8 years’ experience, financial services preferred
- CPA required; broker-dealer/RIA a plus
- Strong technical accounting abilities
- Financial precision with outstanding judgment
- A true “partner” mindset
